That’s what the Softbank’s five new Japan Texture cases for the iPhone 3GS/3G are about to do. These handcrafted with gold dust, lacquered cases have beautifully combined the traditional with the modern gadgets. The cases are named after five well-known samurai like Naoe Kanetsugu and Sanada Yukimura. The cases are created in collaboration with Zohiko, a renowned Kyoto lacquer ware maker founded some 350 years ago and come with special cloth pouches along with commentary written by martial arts historian Kozo Kaku.
